About

Founded in 2015 by Jodie Morris, TEAL is a mobile personal development organisation that fuses leadership training and teambuilding to the outdoor environment, with a primary focus to encourage people to reach their full potential.

TEAL delivers unique experiences to strengthen business teams, help focus young people’s sights and skills for the future, and create extraordinary outdoor adventures to empower people to be the best that they can be.

Often described as energetic and conscientious with an “overwhelmingly positive attitude”, Jodie has over 11 years working in personal development and outdoor education. Having worked for both privately owned and charitable organisations both in the UK and overseas, Jodie holds a wealth of experience delivering programmes to people of varying ages and backgrounds.

Jodie grew up amongst the gritstone crags of the Peak District, and spent much of her formative years exploring the high moorlands by day and night on foot, bike, horse and at the end of a climbing rope. It was this start, coupled with her family heritage in one of Britain’s oldest mountaineering clubs that meant a lifetime in the outdoors was inevitable.

From early family travel adventures dog sledging in arctic Sweden and hiking and camping in remote canyons of Arizona, Jodie developed her love of adventure and wild places. At the age of 16 she embarked upon an unplanned, solo journey hitchhiking down the west coast of Ireland following in the footsteps of her favourite Irish rockband. This ‘can-do’ attitude, belief in other people and thirst for adventure has followed her ever since.

Her university career took her to the rugged mountains of North Wales- a landscape steeped in history, myth and legend- where she developed a respect for this wild place, its people and all its stories.

Jodie’s positive outlook and dynamic approach to life has seen her working with a wide range of people across the UK and beyond. Leadership and personal development are her forte, especially when this involves motivating others in the outdoors to be the best they can be. For over 10 years she worked in youth development; delivering motivational programmes to American young people in Italy, taking young offenders on wilderness journeys across remote Scotland or more recently at a social integration charity aimed at strengthening segregated communities and breaking down social barriers within the UK. Jodie has a passion for helping individuals believe in themselves and what they are trying to achieve.

Jodie believes that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. It’s this attitude that has led her to work and travel in some of the most extraordinary places across the world. She managed an international rock climbing refuge in the mountains of Spain, guided horseriding in the heat of Namibia and facilitated a Saudi Royal party extravaganza in the souks of Marrakech. She has mounted personal expeditions climbing throughout the USA, Europe and New Zealand and has recently returned from a marine odyssey sailing and swimming in the Galapagos Islands of the South Pacific; coming in close contact with an array of underwater life was an experience she will never forget.

Back in the UK and amongst her beloved local hills of Snowdonia, in 2015, Jodie took the plunge and launched TEAL. To date she has worked with a range of individuals, schools and businesses to encourage others to get out of their comfort zone and apply a positive can-do attitude to their everyday lives.
